AP Accountant, Accounting Operations
About the Role:
The Accounting Operations team manages all aspects of day-to-day accounting operations, including vendor and provider accounts payable, daily treasury activities, corporate credit cards, intercompany transactions, and payroll. To support business growth, we have created the role of AP Accountant, Accounting Operations to assist with all areas of accounting operations with a primary focus on accounts payable function.
You Will:
Assist with the accounts payable operations, including management of AP inbox, vendor onboarding, vendor inquiries, and preparation of AP reconciliations.
Ensure vendor invoices are properly coded & approved in the billing system, with appropriate support for processing.
Assist with corporate credit card coding and posting into the general ledger, including careful review of coding and impact in the general ledger.
Assist with processing and reviewing employee reimbursements.
Assist with the month-end close process, including assisting with completing account reconciliations and preparing/posting manual journal entries, in a timely and accurate manner.
Review the work performed by the outsourced offshore accounting team and prepare new training instructions for the outsourced accounting team as needed.
Enhance accounting operations procedures to adhere to the public company Sarbanes-Oxley Act control requirements.
Assist with ad-hoc accounting projects and resolve issues arising from daily accounting operations processes.
Take ownership and initiative for accounting operation process improvements and process documentation.
You Have:
2+ years of experience in the accounting profession, with public accounting or public company experience, strongly preferred
BA or BS degree from a top-ranking university in accounting, business administration, or economics required
Advanced Excel Skills required
Netsuite, BILL(.com), Brex, Coupa experience preferred
Top-level critical thinking and analytical skills
Detail-oriented and exceptionally organized
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to think through complex problems, determine proper processes, derive accounting conclusions, and present results to the team
Able to multi-task, prioritize, and manage projects/tasks in a fast-paced environment
Ability to be a team player, and ability to work well in both In-Person & Remote work environments
