Staff Accountant - Inventory
About the Role:
The Accounting team manages all aspects of day-to-day general ledger accounting, period-end close responsibilities, and financial reporting in compliance with GAAP standards. To support business growth, we are expanding our inventory team with the addition of a Staff Accountant (Inventory) role. As a Staff Accountant, you are a high-performing team member who will own the accounting for inventory operations, as well as assist with month-end close processes and general ledger accuracy for inventory related accounts.
You Will:
Own the month-end close accounting processes for the internal fulfillment inventory operations, including preparing necessary account reconciliations, investigating general ledger transactions and posting of manual journal entries, in a timely and accurate manner.
Review the accuracy and investigate issues with transactions relating to purchase orders, inventory receipts, inventory fulfillment, supply chain invoices, warehouse inventory adjustments, inventory counts and other records impacting inventory in the general ledger.
Assist with managing accounting systems and integrations impacting our internal fulfillment and subsidiary operations, including but not limited to Netsuite, High Jump, PioneerRX and others.
Prepare inventory accounting schedules and workpapers, ensuring adherence to public company Sarbanes-Oxley Act compliance requirements and testing.
Assist with ad-hoc accounting projects related to Inventory and internal fulfillment operations, including preparation of schedules and reconciliations in connection with financial statement audits and regulatory filings.
Review work performed by the outsourced accounting team. Prepare new training instructions for the outsourced accounting team.
You Have:
2-3+ years of experience in the accounting profession, with a public accounting or public company experience strongly preferred
BA or BS degree from top ranking university, in accounting, business administration or economics required
CPA or CPA track preferred
Top-level critical thinking and analytical skills
Detail-oriented and exceptionally organized
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to think through complex problems, determine proper processes, and derive accounting conclusions and present results to the team; demonstrate intellectual curiosity
Able to prioritize and manage multiple projects/tasks in a fast-paced environment; comfortable in an ambiguous environment
Ability to be a team player, and ability to work well in both In-Person & Remote work environments
