Underwriting Optimization Lead
About the role
We are looking for a highly seasoned and technical underwriting professional to support and optimize Coalition’s rapidly growing global underwriting efforts in Cyber and Executive Risk. This role requires extensive experience in underwriting best practices, a deep understanding of industry standards, and strong analytical and collaborative skills to drive underwriting consistency, profitability, and efficiency.
This position is fully remote.
Responsibilities
Support the development and enforcement of global underwriting standards, best practices, and underwriting authority levels.
Optimize performance by monitoring and enforcing audit criteria to ensure underwriting quality and consistency.
Collaborate with internal teams to maintain profitability across all segments, ensuring underwriting practices align with performance standards.
Foster active engagement with Underwriting Leaders by working together on referrals, escalations, and continuously improving processes to ensure alignment and superior outcomes.
Work with Product and cross-functional teams to identify and implement automation opportunities that streamline underwriting processes and improve efficiency.
Skills and Qualifications
8+ years of deep knowledge of Cyber, Tech E&O, MPL, and ER underwriting, including understanding of risk assessments, policy structuring, and market trends.
Strong collaboration for working across teams, building consensus, and driving initiatives forward
In-depth experience in identifying and implementing automation opportunities within underwriting processes, with strong understanding of product, tooling, and underwriting workflows.
Excellent communication with ability to convey complex ideas to diverse audiences, including non-technical stakeholders.
Compensation
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The US base salary for this position ranges from $135,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $170,000/year in our highest geographic market. Consistent with applicable laws, an employee's pay within this range is based on a number of factors, which include but are not limited to relevant education, skills, job-related knowledge, qualifications, work experience, credentials, and/or geographic location.
