As we continue our product-fueled growth by adding new features and broadening our solution to meet the needs of the global market, it's clear there's a missing piece. That's where you come in!

We are looking for an experienced Edge Networks Platform Engineer to help us maintain and grow our OnPrem systems. Qualified candidates understand the importance of observability, know how to automate and use CI/CD tools to deploy their IaC, have experience adhering to best practices for secure deployment of resources, and have recent working knowledge of configuration management. This person will ensure our network’s resilience and availability by using a variety of tools, and will improve our existing processes to keep us on the Edge.

This is a full-time, fully remote role, open to candidates in the United States and Canada, and will participate in on-call rotations.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience working with highly scalable applications3+ years experience with managing and deploying IaC via Ansible
• Proficiency following best security practices for OnPrem resources
• 2+ years of experience as a Network Engineer with a focus on IX transits and eBGP
• 2+ years of experience with DNS
• 2+ years of proficiency working and managing low latency networks
• Has successfully used monitoring tools to observe network metrics for on-prem resources
• Experience working remotely
• Linux OS

Bonus points for:

• Experience with Ansible Tower
• Experience with shell / python scripting
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines
• Proficiency working with monitoring & observability tools such as Datadog, Prometheus & Grafana, Loki, etc
• Pacific or Mountain time zone availability

At DNSFilter You Will:

• Maintain and operate DNSFilter edge devices
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues related to IX transits and eBGP
• Optimize AnyCast network BGP peerings to lower latency
• Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain linux operating systems and applications using Ansible
• Develop and implement capacity planning strategies to ensure optimal system performance and scalability
• Troubleshoot and resolve system-related issues in a timely and efficient manner
• Implement and enforce security implementations to protect systems and data
• Set and enforce high standards of observability and IaC
• Be part of our on-call rotation to ensure 99.999% availability

U.S. hiring salary range

$115,000—$130,000 USD

DNSFilter is a pay for performance organization, which means there is the opportunity to advance your compensation with performance over time. The hiring base pay is dependent upon many factors such as level, function, training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, and/or geographic location. As a fully remote company, our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. and global geographic markets. We pay differently based on those defined markets.
