The People Analytics & Insights Team support the ambitions of the BBC in understanding and developing our extensive, diverse and talented workforce. Through developing corporate reporting, creating rich data stories and delivering actionable insights, the team are at the core of enabling our people, managers and leaders to thrive and to be supported through the moments that matter. Our team’s strategic objectives include partnering internally to achieve:

As a Workforce Insights Data Analyst, you’ll be working closely with the HR teams in understanding the composition of our teams now and for the future. In combining numerous dimensions to understand skills and capabilities across multiple business domains, your work will help to support the BBC’s Value for All strategy.

•    Initial informal chat with hiring manager (30 minutes)

•    Technical task for shortlisted candidates – approx. one hour preparation time

•    Virtual interview – approx. one hour of technical and values-based questions

Main responsibilities

As a Workforce Insights Data Analyst at the BBC, you will be responsible for designing workforce data models, building and maintaining the workforce planning and strategy analytical models. You will also be the key contact when it comes to the organisational strategy data analysis, in partnership with the wider team. Combining large datasets with multiple dimensions, you’ll be confident in developing robust and sustainable data processes across source and target applications. Experience of Tableau (including data prep), PowerBi, SAP and cloud data platforms would be preferred.

You will strive to deliver quality with robust validation and exceptionally high ethical and technical standards.

You will be part of a multi-disciplinary agile team working alongside analysts and data visualisation teams to deliver services and applications for the next generation of BBC people data products.

Workforce analysis is critical in driving positive transformation and development of skills and talent for the BBC, and this role has an opportunity to implement incredibly impactful data models and forecasting.

-    Evaluate and adapt processes and technologies to new requirements and situations including relevant team members in the process

-    Manage complex projects with integrity when faced with challenges
