Salary and benefits: £45,000 to £55,000 depending on experience plus 16% bonus up to 32%, private medical cover, 38 days annual leave, excellent pension, 12x salary life assurance, career breaks, income protection, 3x volunteering days and much more.

The role
As a Senior Cloud IT Analyst specializing in FinOps, you will play a crucial role in managing and optimizing our cloud financial operations. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that our cloud infrastructure is cost-effective, secure, and aligned with our business objectives. You will collaborate closely with IT, finance, and operational teams to provide insights, strategies, and solutions for efficient cloud usage, expenditure, risk management, and governance.
You’ll be joining our new Cloud Hub team and be part of the newly formed Cloud Business Office (CBO) function. The CBO acts as centralized function that bridges the gap between IT finance, and business units, ensuring that cloud investments deliver maximum value and support the organisations strategic objectives.
What are we looking for?
- Cloud Financial Management: Oversee and manage the financial operations of our cloud infrastructure, ensuring cost efficiency and transparency.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop and maintain cloud budgets, forecasts, and financial models to support business planning and decision-making.
- Cost Optimization: Identify opportunities for cost savings and implement best practices for cloud cost management, including resource optimization and right-sizing.
- Reporting and Analysis: Create detailed financial reports and dashboards to provide insights into cloud spending, trends, and anomalies.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with IT, finance, and business teams to align cloud spending with organizational goals and objectives.
- Vendor Management: Manage relationships with cloud service providers, negotiate contracts, and ensure compliance with service agreements.
- Policy Development: Establish and enforce policies and procedures for cloud financial management and governance.
- Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with cloud operations, ensuring robust security and compliance measures are in place.
- Governance: Develop and implement governance frameworks to ensure effective oversight of cloud resources, compliance with regulatory requirements, and alignment with corporate policies.
- Training and Education/Knowledge Sharing: Develop and implement training programs to educate employees about cloud best practices, cost management and compliance requirements along with promoting knowledge sharing and collaboration across the organisation.
Requirements
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey financial information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive strategic initiatives.
- Risk and Governance Expertise: Proven experience in developing and implementing risk management and governance frameworks in a cloud environment.
- Experience: Experience of cloud financial management or a similar role, with a focus on FinOps.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), cloud cost management tools, and financial analysis software
