The details:

  • Permanent Full Time 9 day fortnight
  • $79,563 - $98,418pa + 12% super Qld Local Government Industry Award (Stream A) - Level 3 - 5 of EBA5 The appointed wage level will be dependent upon the successful candidate's level of experience, skills and qualifications.
  • 72.5 hour fortnight
  • Hybrid, flexible working environment, including some work from home days.
  • Location: Strathpine

Join City of Moreton Bay as a graduate Engineer, and help shape and enhance our communities for today and tomorrow.

Our graduate Engineers work closely with a Project Manager &/or Senior Project Managers, getting guidance and mentoring to manage a workload of minor construction projects (up to $500K) including the administration, supervision and management of contracts through stages of procurement,

award, construction, defects liability and maintenance periods. You'll also be:

  • Undertaking technical planning and investigation of projects****and generating technical reports for Senior Engineer’s review and consideration
  • Providing routine technical engineering advice in related to construction legislation, Australian Standards, and Workplace Health and Safety
  • Coordinating and management of contractors to run to schedule and resolving routine construction issues
  • Assess, recommend and reject progressive payment certificate claims
  • Contribute to a positive team environment and engaging proactively with stakeholders to ensure project outcomes are achieved.

About you

We're looking for graduates with up to 5 years experience managing minor construction projects, experience working with relevant construction contracts, legislation, and standards, and experience providing technical engineering advice. You'll also have:

  • Applied understanding of engineering principles and practices
  • Sound time management skills to manage conflicting priorities and meet deadlines
  • Good communication skills to communicate concepts and matters in a simple and concise manner
  • Ability to contribute to a healthy, inclusive and well-connected workplace
  • Degree qualification in Civil Engineering recognised by Engineers Australia (required)
  • Current C class driver’s licence (required)
  • Construction Induction Card competency (required).
